About Us
The Martin Family
Matthew is a 2nd generation farmer from Velvet Ridge where he grew up working cattle and helped in his parents chicken houses. When he is not on the farm, you can catch him working at their diesel mechanic shop in Bald Knob. Chloe was born and raised in Jonesboro where she graduated from Jonesboro High School, earned her Bachelors degree from Arkansas State University, then finished her masters degree in Special Education' from Harding University once she moved to White County.
Our beef is born and raised on our farm where they are rotated through pastures throughout the year as well as supplemented with grain towards the end. Matthew bought his first herd in 2017 and established the name, Ridge Raised Farms, in 2019. Margie was bought in March of 2020 (the week that Covid shut down the country) and the tiny seed of opening up a market one day was planted on the drive home with her. We learned just how much our community and our state had to offer when it came to food and necessities. From local meat & eggs, fresh honey and jam, baked goods and raw milk- we were set! Why shop at big chain stores when we can get the essentials from a local family or farm? At Margie's Market, we have a simple goal that we strive to accomplish and that is to always share faith, on our farm, with our family. & you are part of our market family!
We get to raise 4 incredible little humans.
You can always expect to see our kids somewhere on the farm. They enjoy riding their four wheelers, running on hay bales, helping in the garden, and imagining their own market one day.
Meet Margie
The dream of Margie's Market began when Chloe shared a facebook meme that said, "It's buy your wife a cow month." Not really thinking that would happen, but a few short hours later they found Margie and the rest is history.
